The School Counseling Office
What does a School Counselor Do?
School Counselors help students with academic, career, personal/social and any other problems they may face. School Counselors provide students with services through individual and group counseling, classroom guidance and program development. School Counselors consult with teachers, administration and students to provide support for the entire school community.
How can a student see the School Counselor?
Students need permission from a teacher and/or the counselor to meet with the School Counselor. All students will be asked for a pass on entrance to the counseling office. If a counselor is unavailable students will be asked to complete a request to see the counselor form to set up an appointment. This form is also available by clicking on the Request to See My Counselor tab. Students can be referred by any staff member, parent, peer or themselves for counseling.
Confidentiality
The School Counselor will keep all information confidential unless disclosure is required. We will inform parents and/or appropriate authorities when the student’s condition indicates: harm to self, others or from others.

School Counseling Department Events
If anything is of interest to you and you would like to collaborate please let us know. These events are organized in conjunction with Student Ambassadors and Defend a Friend.
National Mix It Up at Lunch Day: A national campaign launched by Teaching Tolerance over a decade ago to encourage students to identify, question and cross social boundaries.
National School Counseling Week: A week to celebrate school counselors and to advocate for what we do, encouraging the mental, social and emotional health of our teachers and students.
Random Acts of Kindness Week: RAK week focuses on the spirit of hope and goodness. It is a springboard of action. We will be encouraging students and teachers, school wide, to be intentionally kind to each other.
UPstanders Rally: Our Defend a Friend club plans an annual rally to encourage all students to stand up instead of stand by when witnessing bullying in our school.
Career Café: Professionals from our school and our community will come to talk and answer questions from our students to get them excited about various career choices. This will take place once a month during lunch.
Stuff the Bus: Student ambassadors will lead the charge in collecting cans and non-perishable items for inter parish ministries.
Box Tops for Education: Two weeks during the school year we will have box tops turn in dates. The advisories in each grade level that turn in the most box tops will be rewarded.
